I think I've finally found a couple of nice uses for Twitter. Now, mind you, I am an addicted user. I have the messages sent to my phone, I have it on my desktop all day...I'm way into the microblogging world (hmmm...wonder when Izea will do "Pay-per-tweet"?). However, it is an addiction; I usually tell people to save themselves if they can avoid it). Among other things, it makes your loved ones roll their eyes as you compulsively type into your Treo "I'm standing in line with 11 items in the 10-items-or-less lane...wish me luck!"

But the other night I was at a performance with Foxy Veronica's Peach Pies, and as it was a holiday weekend, most of our circle of friends were in parts unknown. Yet at the end of the evening, my friend Katie and I were able to talk with and tease friends in Iowa, New Jersey, Colorado, Milwaukee...all through brief little messages relayed through my phone. We flirted, we teased, we were congratulated on our performance...it's one of the best examples of social media really working ot improve my life and those of my friends that I've seen.
