On the Road Again...

Chiao-Ping refused to let me drive at all until we actually got to Baltimore. Gee, wonder if she's seen me drive before...the trees and scenery were beautiful, and the traffic was much better than it had any right to be.

We could feel the stresses of NY sloughing off every mile away we got...

Chiao-Ping in the Front
Not a very good (or even flattering) picture, but this is the back of the van--note, theatre department faculty, the amazing dedication of Andrea there on the right, studiously trying to work her way through Schopenhauer--or is is Sally Banes? Hopefully the latter...
Dancers in the Back
Arrival at the Ward Center for the Arts

We arrived at St. Paul's School and the Ward Center for the Arts in record time--an hour before we were scheduled to get there, in fact. That didn't stop us from teching until 11pm, though, and by then everybody, dancers and techies, were famished. Thank goodness, there was a "Fresh Mart" close to the hotel, open 24 hours...and we were able to get quite a feast.

Midnight Feast

Well, OK, feast is kind of a strong word...but you'd be amazed how good chicken in a bag with pitas and sushi can be late at night.

And while I'm at it, let me pay quick tribute to my online friend Metagnat, who I met in realspace for the first time in Baltimore at the xando Coffee Bar. Click on the image to go to HER site, which is more of a BLOG than this...and she's more of a geek than I am, laughing at HTML raw, fer gossakes...

Me and the Metagnat

I'm sure you're all wondering how the actual performances went...and I'd love to tell you, but first, I've got to get the images/video off of the tape, and processed, and there's bills to pay, blahblahblah...but yes, this epic journey will come to an end soon. Meanwhile, enjoy some illicit pictures from the Whitney...

UPDATE: The pictures are up! Come and See!
