We were getting tired. No doubt about it, and this picture of Andrea taken during the rehearsal of "Refrain" says it better than anything.

You eat well when you're touring. You sleep lousy. You work hard, and usually at a higher level of stress than normal because all of your surroundings are unfamiliar.

I've always respected touring artists, and come to recognize that the "stuck-up" attitude is more of a quest to gain some sort of comfort in the absence of a steady base to call home.

But this was a LITTLE tour. Two cities, only 13 days. Mom, I'm glad I'm a designer, not a rock-n-roll star...

Speaking of Refrain, it gives me an opportunity to share with you one of my greatest pleasures--videotaping the immensely talented Tania Isaacs dancing. My first "pro" videography job was taping a faculty concert in which she danced Chiao-Ping's "Little Fishes"--and the presence and vitality of this woman on or off stage is truly astonishing. You can catch a badly lit video of her dance, too. I also got to briefly meet her husband on the way back to NJ--a furniture artist extraordinaire.
