We had our seventh rehearsal today - click here to meet the dancers.

Putting the dance together

We are now in the process of putting the dance together from the material made in previous rehearsals. This involves making transitions or linking sections between movement phrases that already exist.
We are also developing some of the phrases by adding more dancers doing movement that complements or contrasts with the existing phrase.

Transition

As promised in rehearsal 6, we have filmed the transition between the end of the Relationships Duet (rehearsal 3) and the beginning of the developed Relationships Duet (rehearsal 4).

We have used movements from the beginning section (rehearsal 5) and from the Encounter duet (rehearsal 4).

Developed Leaving Duet

To develop the leaving duet from rehearsal 3, we brought in three more dancers. Abbie and Maggie learned the first section of the duet, and performed it when Melanie and Ronnie were halfway through the original duet. Liz then enters from upstage and walks through the group. The focus of the whole group is the downstage right corner, which is just behind the left foreground of the image.

Performance

We should finish the dance in rehearsal on Monday, and then we are going to rehearse it on Thursday and Friday for a performance on Saturday 1st July. We will video the whole dance on that day, and put it up in sections on the Web site. We will also have a live showing via videoconferencing for anyone who would like to come along and see it. Full details will be up shortly, but we will be using iVisit software, which is free to download from the Web, and can be used by any computer with an internet connection. You don't have to have a camera - you will still be able to see us. If you would like further details please email us at hands-on@satorimedia.com
